This year, I'm changing my attitude. This holiday season I am choosing to buy gifts from companies that empower- not abuse- people around the world. So before you go nuts over all the online gift guides (from companies that use sweatshop labor) or go buck wild at Walmart, or another chain that uses child labor, please remember how privileged you are to be able to buy gifts, and remember you can help people that are less privileged! Your family will love your gift, and somewhere in the world life will get a bit better for a fellow human being. PLUS I did the brunt work and found cute gifts from companies that give back! If you can't afford to give gifts this year, no sweat. We're very lucky to be alive.

This company is amazing. Not only are their products fair trade, sustainable, all natural, and cruelty free (woo!) but for every bar purchased, Hand in Hand donates one bar of soap and a month of clean water (!!!) to children in need.
"After reading an article stating that 5 million children die worldwide from water related illnesses, and that 65% of those cases could be prevented with simple hand washing, Bill & Courtney decided to start a social business around soap with the simple mission of “Buy a bar, Give a bar”."
